- WELCOME TO THE MARKETING MASTER
- -------------------------------
-
- A few last minute notes:
-
- 1) Because of the nature of the data, you may experience some
- degradation in speed by choosing a large range [F3] in a key
- field which has many unique entries, such as 'ZIP Code' or
- 'City'. This is normal. However, large amounts of data
- can be selected very quickly from key fields that consist
- of larger groups, such as 'State', 'Area Code', and 'Main
- Category'.
-
- 2) If The Marketing Master will not load, you may want to try using
- combinations of the following command-line options [to follow
- after TMM on the command line]:
-
- -x uses extended memory, if available
- -ne disables the use of EXPANDED memory
- -m[number] allocates [number] bytes of memory
- for the ROMWARE database server
- (minimum=20000; maximum limited
- by system memory)
-
- For example, by typing
-
- TMM -x -m20000
-
- at the DOS command line, you are using 20000 bytes of memory for
- the server, and also making use of expanded memory, if found.
-
- 3) Be sure you have at least 512k system memory free. The startup
- screen of The Marketing Master gives info on available system
- memory. To get this figure after the startup screen goes away,
- type [Alt-M] at the 'Select an Action' menu screen. (After
- starting The Marketing Master you should still have >64k free.)
-
- Cheers!
